July Construction and Traffic Impacts

With an increase in culvert pipe replacements, road resurfacings and other infrastructure projects taking place this summer, residents should note the following traffic impacts in the east of Ottawa.
Residents are encouraged to plan ahead should there be any disruptions to their daily commute. The City of Ottawa offers an interactive traffic map and residents can utilize OC Transpo's travel planner. Traffic will also be detoured accordingly.
Closures and Traffic Impacts
Due to Stage 2 LRT construction, Highway 174 Bus Rapid Transit Lane (BRT) will be closed in the westbound direction between Champlain Street and Orléans Boulevard until Monday, July 25 at 5:30 AM.
Due to Stage 2 LRT construction, the Montréal Road and Highway 174 intersection will be closed including the following ramps at the intersection (eastbound off-ramps and westbound on-ramps) from Friday, July 15 at 10:00 PM until Monday, July 18 at 5:00 AM.
Due to Stage 2 LRT construction, Champlain Street westbound off-ramp from Highway 174 and Tenth line Road westbound on-ramp to Highway 174 to be closed between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM on Monday, July 11 until Wednesday, July 13.
Due to Stage 2 LRT construction, lane 1 and 2 on Highway 174 are expected to be closed on the eastbound direction from Montréal Road up to Sir George-Étienne Cartier Parkway including the following ramps at Montréal Road intersection with Highway 174 (eastbound on ramps) to be closed from 9:00 PM and 5:30 AM on Thursday, July 14 until Friday, July 15.
Due to Stage 2 LRT construction, Jeanne D’Arc Boulevard eastbound on-Ramp is expected to be closed on Tuesday, July 12 between 22:00 and 05:30.
Traffic will be detoured accordingly.
Due to culvert replacement, closure of Devine Road (east of Frank Kenny Road) from Monday, July 11, 2022 to Monday, July 18, 2022. Traffic will be detoured to Frank Kenny Road and Rockdale Road.
Due to culvert replacement, closure of Huisman Road (from Frank Kenny Road to Rockdale Road) from Monday, July 11, 2022 to Monday, July 18, 2022.
The City of Ottawa will be replacing a large bridge culvert on Magladry Road from Friday, July 15, 2022 to Tuesday, August 30, 2022 with a full road closure that was approved by the City’s traffic team. Traffic will be detoured to Watson Road for approximately 6 weeks, but no impacts are anticipated on future resurfacing in the area. A notice of construction will be distributed to directly affected residents.
Due to culvert replacement, closure of Cox Country Road (south of Wilhaven Drive) from Monday, July 18, 2022 to Friday, July 29, 2022. Traffic will be detoured to either side of Cox County Road will be via Wilhaven Drive and Innes Road.
Due to culvert replacement, closure of Magladry Road (between Dunning Road and Sarsfield Road) from Monday, July 18 to Friday, August 26, 2022.
Due to culvert replacement, Dunning Road (from Russland Road to Devine Road) will undergo a closure from Monday, July 18, 2022 to Monday, August 1, 2022.
