Environment Canada has issued a Significant Weather Statement (SWS) approaching Ottawa. We are likely to see 20 to 30 cm of snow along with a wind gust of up to 30 to 60 Km/h. The SWS will be in effect until further notice.
A Winter Weather Parking Ban will be in effect tomorrow Friday, February 18, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. When vehicles are removed from our streets, the Roads and Parking Services Team can clear snow efficiently to create a wide-open roadway.
During this time, all vehicles must be removed from the roadway - unless you have an eligible parking permit or are accessing parking in our exempted commercial main streets.
In addition to the parking ban, residents are urged to:
Clear local catch basins.
Avoid driving if necessary. If you must drive, please exercise caution (e.g. drive slower).
Do not pass City of Ottawa vehicles that are clearing roads. These vehicles are equipped with flashing blue lights.
Move all garbage and recycling bins onto your driveway, away from snowbanks.
Do not call 3-1-1 or submit a Service Request (SR). The Roads teams are on it.
