Information on spring flooding, flood watch, and please clear catch basins!
You can join the City of Ottawa’s Spring Flood 2023 Facebook group at https://bit.ly/419lKwz to access information for those affected by spring flooding or anyone who wishes to keep up to date with any developments. There is also valuable information at https://bit.ly/3nIFlVA such as current conditions, any road, pathway, or park closures, planning and prevention tips, and sandbag depot locations.
South Nation Conservation has issued a Flood Watch. Water levels & flows are high, particularly in the headwaters of the South Nation River and the North Branch of the South Nation River. This flood watch is in effect until the evening of April 12. Residents are advised to exercise extreme caution when near rivers and waterbodies due to increasing river flows and slippery conditions. The City is also is urging you to try clearing the catch basin near your home, if you can. You may also report a blocked catch basin or a flooded roadway by visiting https://bit.ly/3U1lq0o.
Spring Street Sweeping has started
Spring has sprung and that means street sweeping! Crews have already begun operations which continue through May. A reminder that you may see temporary parking and road restrictions in place while crews work.

2023 Hazardous Waste Drop Off Events released
Mark your calendars! The 2023 Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Event schedule has been released with two dates in Orléans.
These events help to protect the environment and decreases the risk of toxic materials ending up in our collection vehicles or landfills.
